After-install checklist

The settings to review before you take your first real order.

Work through this list top to bottom. Each item links to the page that explains it.

Security first#

[ ] Sign in at /admin and change the administrator password if you used a weak one (Admin > Profile).
[ ] If you imported the demo, delete the demo customer customer@sellora.com - or remove all demo content - before launch (Admin > Customers, or Admin > Appearance > Demos).
[ ] Make sure your site is served over HTTPS and that APP_URL in .env starts with https://.
[ ] Keep APP_DEBUG=false in .env on a live site.
[ ] Set up automatic backups of your database and files with your host. Sellora does not include a backup tool in this version.

[ ] Admin > Settings > General: store name, tagline, logo (normal and for dark backgrounds), favicon, default language, currency, timezone and formats. See Settings reference.
[ ] Admin > Settings > Store: contact e-mail, phone, address, opening hours, social links.
[ ] Admin > Appearance: logo, colours and fonts, header and footer - see Appearance.

[ ] Payments: enable the gateways you want, enter credentials, test in sandbox mode - see Payments overview.
[ ] Shipping: define zones and methods - see Shipping.
[ ] Taxes: choose a tax preset or add rates - see Taxes.
[ ] Currencies: activate the currencies you want to show - see Currencies and languages.
[ ] Checkout settings: guest checkout, terms and privacy pages, invoice prefix.
[ ] Review the CMS pages (About, FAQ, Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, Shipping Policy, Returns and Refunds) and replace the sample text with your own - see Pages, blog, menus, sliders and banners.

[ ] Settings > E-mail: set an SMTP server and send a test message - see E-mail. Until you do, e-mails are only written to the log.
[ ] Check the order notification recipients.

[ ] Add the cron job - see Cron job. Without it abandoned-cart reminders, exchange-rate refreshes, sitemap generation and the release of unpaid orders do not run.

[ ] Add your own categories, brands and products (or import them from CSV) - see Products.
[ ] Remove or edit the demo sliders, banners, blog posts and menus.

[ ] Settings > SEO: meta title and description, social share image, sitemap - see SEO.
[ ] Add analytics and the cookie bar if your region requires consent - see Analytics, cookies and newsletter.

[ ] Place a test order as a guest and as a registered customer, with each payment method you enabled, and confirm the order, the e-mails and the invoice look right.
[ ] Open the site on a phone.
[ ] Switch off maintenance mode if you turned it on (Settings > Maintenance).
