Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about licences, hosting, features, customisation and data.
Licence and purchase#
Does one purchase cover multiple sites? A purchase code covers one live site. Use a separate purchase for every additional store, and for client sites. See your CodeCanyon licence for details.
Can I use a staging site? Yes, but do not enable real payment credentials there.
Where is my purchase code? See Database and purchase code.
Hosting#
Which hosting do I need? PHP 8.3+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+ and the extensions listed in Server requirements. Shared hosting works.
Do I need SSH or Composer? No. The package includes its dependencies and the wizard does the setup.
Can I install in a subfolder? A subdomain is recommended - see Subdomain and subfolder installs.
Features#
How many designs are included, and can I mix them? 19 storefront designs (10 classic, 6 marketplace-style, 3 studio) - see Demo presets. The design you apply sets the header, footer, cards and home page. Product page and blog designs are chosen separately, so you can combine, for example, the Cosmetic Store with the Tabs product layout - see Product page layouts and Blog layouts.
Which design does a new store start with? Tech Store (Treva), the flagship of the classic family, with the Electronics demo catalogue when you import demo content. The setup wizard lists it first and pre-selects it; pick any other design there or later in Appearance > Demos.
Why does a classic demo show products from a different kind of store? Each classic demo reuses the catalogue of an earlier design (for example Tech Store and Gaming Store use the Electronics catalogue; Sport Store adds sport products to the fashion catalogue). Replace the demo content with your own products.
How do bundle discounts work? A bundle shows a saving only if it names a valid percent coupon (for example LOOK10, KIT15, BOX10). The coupon is applied to the cart when the bundle is added. A cart holds one coupon, so it replaces another code, and it discounts the whole cart - see Bundle coupons.
Does the store work offline? When the PWA is enabled over HTTPS the storefront registers a service worker that serves an offline page and cached pages; see Progressive web app.
Which payment methods are included? Thirteen: Cash on Delivery, Bank Transfer, Cheque, Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Paystack, Flutterwave, Mollie, Paytm, SSLCommerz, Instamojo and iyzico. Test each in sandbox before going live - see Payments overview.
Does Sellora support multiple languages and currencies? Yes, with right-to-left support - see Currencies, languages and translations.
Can I sell digital products? Yes: upload files in the product editor; customers download them from their account.
Does it support marketplaces (multiple vendors)? No. Sellora is a single-store system.
Does it support subscriptions or recurring billing? Not in this version. Some demo presets show subscription-style sections for design purposes only.
Is there a mobile app? There is a REST API (REST API) you can build an app on, and the store can be added to a phone's home screen (PWA).
Do I need the AI features? No. They are optional, off by default and need your own provider key - see AI Studio overview.
Are customer-group discounts supported? Groups exist for organising customers. They do not apply automatic price discounts in this version; use coupons.
Customisation#
How do I change colours and fonts? Admin > Appearance > Colours - see Appearance.
How do I rearrange the home page? Admin > Appearance > Home builder.
Where do I put custom CSS? Admin > Appearance > Custom code; it survives updates.
How do I change the logo? Admin > Settings > General (logo and favicon), and the logo mode under Appearance.
Can I change the code? Yes, but your edits are overwritten when you update - see Updating Sellora and the Developer guide.
Data and safety#
How do I back up? Export the database with phpMyAdmin or your host's backup tool and copy .env, storage and public/uploads. Sellora does not include a backup tool in this version.
How do I remove the demo content? Admin > Appearance > Demos, the reset option - see Appearance.
How do I move to another server? See Moving to another server.
Is customer data stored securely? Passwords are hashed, secrets (API keys, gateway keys, SMTP password) are stored encrypted, card data is never stored on your server (customers pay on the gateway's pages or secure pop-ups), and the admin has a role-based permission system. Keep PHP and your server updated and use HTTPS.
GDPR? Customers can delete their account (anonymising personal data) and export is possible through the admin. You remain responsible for your own privacy policy and consent flows.
